 Developed in the 4GL Progress (www.progress.com) language, the Figtree system is available for implementation through a number of PC based Windows environments. The traditional implementation requirements are for the database and software to be installed within a Local Area Network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN) environment. Utilising the TCP/IP protocol the Figtree System is configured so that all of the Figtree software is installed on the PC, and only the database is installed on the server. This configuration allows for the most efficient levels of operational performance. When installing the Figtree software onto the PC, a sub-directory is established. This directory contains all of the Figtree program files and subsequently avoids any potential operating conflicts with other Windows applications, and providers for a low level of Figtree application maintenance. The database(s) that are supported by Figtree are Progress, Oracle, DB2 and SQL. Each offers their own benefits, and are both classed as being of industrial strength. Subsequently, an assumed level of data robustness is introduced into the day-to-day running of the database. In offering a further service, Figtree has developed a business (based on XML transactions) application layer solution - FigtreeApp and FigtreeWeb. This mechanism provides access to the entire suite of the Figtree system functionality across the Internet, and in addition offers the user local printing of reports, data and transactions. Thanks to Figtree's partnership with Progress Software, our Figtree software capability to perform in a high traffic user-demanding environment has leveraged exponential multi-processing power. Connectivity Figtree's products comprise database fault diagram tools which include various levels of problem diagnosis, detection and resolution of problems, alerting users via the programming environment. At the user application level, messages are flagged whilst integrating/activating resolution features such as All or Nothing Roll Back. ASCII file integration with data merge facilities is a standard feature. Figtree works with a number of alliance partners to enhance value to our products. This includes specialist skills in DIP, Intelligent Free Tax Retrieval, Fax Data Capture incorporating OCR and a broad range of communications options. Intelligence Figtree is also able to offer global network solutions and has adopted low cost methods of transferring high value low volume data throughout the world.
