With the increase in the number of claims and settlement costs, as well as the regulatory requirements for more efficient risk management processes and up to date management reporting, it is imperative for the Police Authorities to have efficient systems in place to help streamline Claims and Risk Management processes. It is important for the Police Authorities to be able to identify, evaluate and manage all categories of risk that governing bodies and key stakeholders must be aware about. Figtree Systems currently supplies Risk Management Information System (RMIS), to a significant number of UK police forces including SEERPIC members. Our team has in-depth knowledge of insurance and risk management requirements for Police Authorities, and have implemented systems to specifically meet those requirements. This includes a number of automated reports including those for Performance Management, mandatory requirements to provide claims and triangulation information to insurers, annual reports for HMIC, Greater London Authority (GLA), and information to the members of public as a part of the Freedom of Information Act (FIA). The Figtree system has helped Police Authorities to streamline their risk management and claims handling process, by providing them with a clear view of their claims and risks across departments. This enables better control of risks management and decision making, while significantly reducing claims handling time and administrative costs. Sussex Police Sussex Police chose the FigRMIS ten years ago in order to replace their existing paper based system. They chose the Figtree system because of its flexibility to meet Sussex Police's system requirements for centralising the claims handling function, to create various ad-hoc reports including internal audit, claims and finance reports and to allow different departments to access the system for up to date information. Looking to the future, interfacing with other internal systems via FigWeb will enable the Sussex Police to further streamline their claims and risk management functions for better management information and decision making.
Staffordshire Police Staffordshire Police had a requirement to replace their existing system, and were looking for a solution that would enable them to get more accurate claims information, improve their processes with the insurers, monitor funds and create various statutory claims and financial reports for different divisions within the force.
The Figtree RMIS was seen as a good fit to meet their system requirements and was also compatible with their Oracle Databases and other IT requirements. FigRIMS has enabled Staffordshire Police to better manage and monitor their claims excesses (for both direct and aggregate stop losses), monitor finances, policies and claims process in general. One of the main advantages in using FigRIMS, is the ease of creating divisional and management reports, and the ability to export them into spreadsheet for further data manipulation, thus saving time and simplifying work. Major Police Force in the UK This Police Service needed to replace their existing insurance claims system which was no longer being supported. They were looking for a system that would allow them to manage and service their incidents and claims, provide management reports on expenditure and have the ability to analyse trends and provide accurate risk information. The need was to communicate correct and timely information to other agencies, including the provision of claims information to the Home Office, reports to the Greater London Authority, mandatory requirements to provide claims and triangulation information to insurers and the provision of information to the members of public as a part of Freedom of Information Act (FIA). The Figtree system met the Service's requirements. |
